Registration

The 2023 World Sudoku and Puzzle Championships are open to anyone interested in spending several days solving hand-crafted logic puzzles in a competition setting while meeting many fellow puzzlers. Official competitors qualify through their national puzzle federations, but unofficial spots are open to those who are able to cover registration fees (see our FAQ page for more detail).

Summary of fees and what is covered

The default room selection is a double (2x) with two double beds, and we have prioritized lowering the cost for this option in setting up the event. Triple and Quadruple rooms start with having the same two beds but may be able to have an additional roll-away bed depending on availability.

Per person cost, in Euros*, for A team members + Captain or for WPF Personal Members on UN teams. Note that being an A team member for either the WSC or WPC qualifies you for the discount price for both events so this discounted rate can apply to a maximum of 8+1 people per country.

*Event costs to the hotel will be paid in Canadian Dollars, and details of specific monetary transfers, particularly from non-Euro currencies, will be worked out during the registration process.

Registration fees cover:

  • Transfer to/from the airport on designated transfer days: October 15, 18, 22
  • Hotel room during stay at the Toronto Don Valley Hotel and Suites (3 nights = October 15-17 for WSC; 4 nights = October 18-21 for WPC)
  • Meals at the hotel (Dinner on arrival day; 3 meals on event days; Breakfast on departure day)
  • Access to other hotel amenities including pool and fitness facility
  • Official entry into event as well as goodie bag and other event keepsakes

As in previous years, we will also be arranging to set up some choices of excursion on October 18th, from a (free) walking tour of Toronto to (paid) tours to Niagara Falls or other sites. More info to be shared later including any fees for special options.
